Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East Appoints Martin Schulz as new President & CEO

18 February 2021, Dubai, UAE – Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East has appointed Martin Schulz to the position of President & CEO, effective 1 February, 2021.

Martin Schulz takes over from Thomas Klein, who has held the role since July 2019 and led Mercedes-Benz across 13 markets within the Middle East and Levant. Thomas Klein’s main achievements as CEO were strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders as well as cooperation between the regional office and the network of general distributors in the region.

Thomas Klein successfully led Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East through a uniquely challenging period as the region, and the world, reacted to the impact of Covid19 on individuals and businesses alike. His leadership and strategy helped the company adapt to the new business landscape presented by the pandemic.

Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, Martin Schulz was CEO of Mercedes-Benz Romania, where he headed Market Operations MB range C Eastern and Central Europe (MBCEE) since 2019.

As CEO of Mercedes-Benz Romania, Martin Schulz oversaw the amalgamation of the Hungary, Slovakia and Romania markets into one regional organisation and the establishment of a Centre of Competence in Romania.

Martin Schulz’s new position marks his return to the UAE, having previously worked as Assistant Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East’s Regional Centre in Dubai in 1999. He has also worked extensively in Asia, with roles in Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea.
